The Greater Lansing Gay Men's Chorus was founded in December 1988. It is a community of gay and gay-friendly men and women who, through song and community involvement, seek to create an atmosphere through musical expression that deepens and empowers our lives and the lives of those who hear us. We seek to create and participate in opportunities where we can promote positive images of Lansing's diverse community to people of all ages, orientations, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds. Through our musical contribution, we hope to encourage greater awareness of the diversity inherent in the human spirit.

The Greater Lansing Gay Men's Chorus, a voluntary, not-for-profit community chorus, was organized to provide the opportunity for gay and gay-supportive men to sing together. The primary purpose of the chorus is musical excellence in performance. While striving to achieve this purpose, the chorus provides social and fellowship experiences that deepen and enrich our lives and the opportunity to present a positive image of the gay community to the general public by being an organization of individuals who are making a positive contribution to the community.
